Axis Communications' business development team recently completed the "Selling the WHY" training provided by Active Risk Survival, Inc. "Selling the WHY" was developed to provide a comprehensive overview of critical incident response procedures and an examination of how electronic technology can be leveraged to improve the outcomes of "All-Hazard" events. Axis Communications participants received training on the Incident Command System (ICS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), with a specific focus on "Resource Typing" electronic countermeasures as part of a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).

Also included in the training were case studies of recent events where technology could have played a major role in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from a hostile event. Additionally, the new NFPA-3000 (PS) Active Shooter Hostile Event Response Program (ASHER) standard was reviewed.

The training was conducted by Jerry G. Wilkins, PSPĀ® who is a certified NFPA-3000 (PS) Program Specialist. "The Axis Communications team was a pleasure to work with," said Mr. Wilkins. Their engagement and interest in the life-safety aspects of security and the importance of assisting their clients in the Risk Mitigation process is exceptional."

The goal of "Selling the WHY" is to position security professionals to better understand the challenges their clients face every day and to provide technology solutions to mitigate both tangible and intangible risk factors.
